Choose your Add Marks and SMS list layout

Preserve original award-list filters, actions, full matching files and visible-page native print.

Show Exam Roll Number

Open Exam & Attendance → Marks & Results → Add Marks or Update Marks, then open a list’s marks or Print page. Show Exam Roll Number starts unchecked. Check it to show each student’s assigned exam roll number; uncheck it to hide the column. The print preview and printed sheet follow the Print page checkbox. These are the exam roll numbers assigned in Exam & Attendance → Extras → Roll No. Slip, separate from class Roll No. A missing exam roll number is blank. This display choice does not edit marks or assign numbers.

In Teacher App 7.5.13 → Marks → Award List → Add Marks, the same checkbox above the marks table controls the separate Exam Roll Number column. It starts off when a list is opened. Changing the display sends no messages.

Find and print award lists

Open Exam & Attendance → Marks & Results → Add Marks or Update Marks. Update Marks lists completed award lists across all exam dates without From or To filters. Use column filters and search, choose 50, 100 or 500 rows per page, then use the page controls. Session, Gender and Group filters share one row.

Choose a list row’s Print. Hide Father Contact starts checked. A single section appears in the header and is hidden from student rows by default; multiple sections retain the column. Grand Total adds each student’s numeric Oral and Written marks. Absent, Leave and nonnumeric subjects add no numeric marks. Unassigned subjects are excluded from obtained and maximum totals. Printing sends no messages.

Choose Oral and Written display names

Open Core Settings → Exam → Exam Settings → Class Grading Policy → Mark Display Name. Enter the names your school uses, such as Assessment Test and Assessment 2, then choose Save display names. Each name can have up to 60 characters. Leave a name blank to restore Oral or Written. A login with award-list management permission can save names; other users can read them.

Reopen award-list creation, update, marks entry or print views and examination result cards to read the saved names. Date-sheet types also show the saved names, including the combined type. The Teacher app uses them on award-list creation and marks entry from version 7.5.11; the Parent app reads them when reopening a published date sheet. Existing marks, grades, totals and calculations stay the same. Saving names does not send messages.

Read the compact marks sheet

Open Exam & Attendance → Marks & Results → Add Marks or Update Marks, then the award list’s marks sheet. Subject details show the subject and exam date together. The marks grid removes the contact column; a section column is hidden when there is only one section.

Absent and Leave

Choose Absent or Leave for the student and subject. Only one can be selected: choosing the other replaces it. Press the selected button again to clear the status. Use the existing Save Marks or Update Marks action to save the entry. A status button alone does not send a message.

Open Add Marks and SMS

Go to Exam → Add Marks and SMS. These are the original award-list parent pages, separate from the child marks, edit and Print screens. Classic opens first unless you saved another choice. Try the new layout and View old layout switch both ways; Make this my default or Make old layout my default saves your own institute-specific choice shared by both list pages. Explicit links override it for the visit; failed saves keep the prior default with Retry. The same mounted engine retains search and column filters during layout changes; switching does not save them.

Original list scope

Add Marks lists incomplete award lists; Update Marks lists completed award lists across all exam dates. Neither parent list has a date-range filter. Create Award List and eligible Add New Student retain their original forms, permissions and requests.

Review and files

Original ID-descending order, global substring search and exact multi-column filters remain. Active column filters combine with AND. Rows per page and All control the visible list. Excel/PDF contain all matching lists across pages with original fields, values and filenames. Browser Print retains the original visible-page tree, including current controls. Row Print opens the original award-list Print screen. No new sorting or export format is added.

Original actions and access

Marks, basic edit and Print links retain the original destinations. Delete keeps its original irreversible-action confirmation; Add New Student keeps original eligibility. Loading/updating or failed queries block stale actions and hide stale print/export controls. Retry repeats the original list request. Existing permissions and server restrictions remain; choosing a layout grants no access. The list workspace does not send SMS, WhatsApp or parent notifications; any separate child sending flow remains outside this change.
