Choose your Examination Reports layout

Find examination reports in a compact catalogue while keeping the original filters, saved display options and report previews.

Mark Display Name

Open Core Settings → Exam → Exam Settings → Class Grading Policy. Only this section contains Mark Display Name; it no longer appears above other exam settings. Save the Oral and Written display names with the existing Save display names button. This remains a school-wide label setting, not a separate setting per class. Existing marks, calculations and award-list management permission are unchanged.

Choose Oral and Written display names

Open Core Settings → Exam → Exam Settings → Class Grading Policy → Mark Display Name. Enter the names your school uses, such as Assessment Test and Assessment 2, then choose Save display names. Each name can have up to 60 characters. Leave a name blank to restore Oral or Written. A login with award-list management permission can save names; other users can read them.

Reopen award-list creation, update, marks entry or print views and examination result cards to read the saved names. Date-sheet types also show the saved names, including the combined type. The Teacher app uses them on award-list creation and marks entry from version 7.5.11; the Parent app reads them when reopening a published date sheet. Existing marks, grades, totals and calculations stay the same. Saving names does not send messages.

Open Examination Reports

Go to Setup → Exam → Examination Reports. This named new entry opens the new catalogue when no default has been saved. Your saved choice and explicit layout link take priority.

View old layout opens the original report cards. Try the new layout returns to the catalogue. Make this my default or Make old layout my default saves your own choice at this institute; other users keep their choices. Retry a failed default save; your previous saved choice remains.

Find and prepare a report

Search matches report titles and descriptions only. It does not change the selected students, subjects or report results. Keep using the original filters, student Sort By and subject Order controls. These controls determine the generated output.

The seven print reports keep their original display options and Settings, Preview and Generate actions. Teacher Performance uses Open report and its own filters. Existing saved display choices and print settings remain in use when switching layouts.

Preview, print and PDF

Preview uses the existing live preview; Generate opens the existing report tab. Print and PDF actions remain on those previews and report tabs. Catalogue search and pagination do not narrow the generated report. Mark entry, grading requirements and report access are unchanged.
