Read and select rows in the New Layout
Long campus names, student names and other text wrap within their table cells. The row becomes taller so its full text remains readable. Wide tables scroll sideways inside their own area.
Tick a row's selection checkbox to highlight the whole row, including its fixed action cells. Untick it to restore the normal row color. The checkbox and the selected count show what is selected; selecting a row does not save or pay anything.
On desktop, table headings stay directly below the visible page controls while the page scrolls. On a phone, the heading stays in the table's normal flow. The top navigation buttons use the selected Appearance theme with readable text; the current view also has a stronger selection mark.
The New Layout is now the default
Every EDUBase page that has a New Layout opens in it. The data, buttons and rules are the same as the classic layout; only the arrangement changes. The first time you land, a small note says You're on the New Layout. Switch back any time from your profile menu. Close it and it does not come back.
Going back to the classic layout
On one page: click View classic layout at the top of the page. To keep that page classic every time, click Make old layout my default there; Back to the new layout returns.
On every page: click your profile picture (top right) and choose Switch to classic layout everywhere. The same item then reads Use the New Layout everywhere to come back. A page you set yourself keeps your choice either way.
The tour guide
Small pulsing notes point at the main controls, up to three at a time. Each note has OK, which closes just that note; a waiting note can appear as soon as space becomes free. When every note in the batch is closed, the next batch appears. The first notes are on the Dashboard: your profile menu, Appearance (themes), Ask Hina (the assistant, bottom right) and the layout switch. The Admissions pages (Admission Queries, the admission form, Manage Students, Admission Approvals) have their own notes. A note you closed does not come back by itself.
Notes stay near their controls
Each note stays close to its own control with a short pointer. Notes can appear above, below or beside a control so they do not overlap. If the screen is crowded, a note waits until you close another note; it is not marked as read. Resizing or scrolling keeps visible notes with their controls.
Guides on phones and longer pages
The same positioning applies to every existing page tour on computers and phones, including the mobile Dashboard. Phone notes keep clear of the top and bottom navigation. Closing a note can bring the next component into view on a longer page. Notes pause while a menu drawer or popup dialog is open, then return when it closes.
The first-login New: Appearance note also stays near its menu without overlapping page-tour notes. Try it now opens Appearance; Got it closes that introductory note.
Hide or replay the guide
Hide all on any note closes every note and turns the guide off. To see the notes again from the start, open your profile picture menu on a computer, or Menu on a phone, and choose Show tour guide. Your choices are saved to your login, so they follow you to any computer.
