Choose your award-list marks view

Choose a view for the existing award-list marks sheet.

Show Exam Roll Number

Open Exam & Attendance → Marks & Results → Add Marks or Update Marks, then open a list’s marks or Print page. Show Exam Roll Number starts unchecked. Check it to show each student’s assigned exam roll number; uncheck it to hide the column. The print preview and printed sheet follow the Print page checkbox. These are the exam roll numbers assigned in Exam & Attendance → Extras → Roll No. Slip, separate from class Roll No. A missing exam roll number is blank. This display choice does not edit marks or assign numbers.

In Teacher App 7.5.13 → Marks → Award List → Add Marks, the same checkbox above the marks table controls the separate Exam Roll Number column. It starts off when a list is opened. Changing the display sends no messages.

Mark Display Name

Open Core Settings → Exam → Exam Settings → Class Grading Policy. Only this section contains Mark Display Name; it no longer appears above other exam settings. Save the Oral and Written display names with the existing Save display names button. This remains a school-wide label setting, not a separate setting per class. Existing marks, calculations and award-list management permission are unchanged.

Choose Oral and Written display names

Open Core Settings → Exam → Exam Settings → Class Grading Policy → Mark Display Name. Enter the names your school uses, such as Assessment Test and Assessment 2, then choose Save display names. Each name can have up to 60 characters. Leave a name blank to restore Oral or Written. A login with award-list management permission can save names; other users can read them.

Reopen award-list creation, update, marks entry or print views and examination result cards to read the saved names. Date-sheet types also show the saved names, including the combined type. The Teacher app uses them on award-list creation and marks entry from version 7.5.11; the Parent app reads them when reopening a published date sheet. Existing marks, grades, totals and calculations stay the same. Saving names does not send messages.

Read the compact marks sheet

Open Exam & Attendance → Marks & Results → Add Marks or Update Marks, then the award list’s marks sheet. Subject details show the subject and exam date together. The marks grid removes the contact column; a section column is hidden when there is only one section.

Absent and Leave

Choose Absent or Leave for the student and subject. Only one can be selected: choosing the other replaces it. Press the selected button again to clear the status. Use the existing Save Marks or Update Marks action to save the entry. A status button alone does not send a message.

Current Parent App Notification choice

On Exam & Attendance → Marks & Results → Add Marks / Update Marks, the marks editor starts with Parent App Notification & live Marks checked. This replaces earlier unchecked-default instructions for this app choice only; it does not tick Father, Mother or Student for you. Review the contact choices and notification checkbox. The existing result-message preview and explicit Send step remain in place when a save would notify a selected contact. Opening the editor does not send anything.

Open Award List Marks

Open Exam & Attendance → Add Marks and SMS or Update Marks and SMS, then use the existing row action to open its marks sheet. Existing access permissions remain unchanged.

Choose your layout

Classic opens first unless you save another default. Use Try the new layout or View old layout to switch. A layout in the page address takes priority for that visit. If saving a default fails, your previous choice remains; try saving again. Switching keeps your current page entries while this page stays open.

Enter and review marks

Review the class, section, group and award-list details, then enter marks in the existing sheet. Search student name or registration number to narrow the displayed rows. This search does not change which marks the existing save uses. Subjects that a student does not take remain locked and are excluded from that student's total.

Save and send choices

Use Save Marks or Update Marks for the existing marks save. Save & Send SMS uses the existing recipient and message options; review the selected contacts and any message preview before sending. Follow the existing confirmation or message dialog shown for your choice. Changing the layout does not change these save or send rules.

Loading and errors

The sheet keeps its original loading and error screen, including the existing Retry for a failed marks-sheet read. No additional Retry or send control is introduced by this view choice.
